Legend of Wonton Wrap Episode 2 Salsa Wonton Scoop

Episode 2: Salsa Wonton Scoop

If’ you’ve read Episode 1 Chilli Lime Shrimp Wonton Cup, you probably experienced the outstanding carrying capability baked wonton wrap has to offer. Salsa Wonton Scoop shows another way for wonton wrap to carry every bite of deliciousness into your mouth. It’s a great salad course!

Cut wonton wrap in half into two rectangles and place them on the back of the muffin pan as shown. Bake for 6 minutes at 350F until the edges are slightly golden. Since no one is getting any younger, let’s chop up some tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and maybe some jalapeño for the salsa while wonton wraps are being baked. Squeeze in some fresh lime juice, cracked some salt and pepper and pour in some extra virgin olive oil into the chopped vegetables. Whao la! You’ve got fresh home made salsa. All that’s left to do is to serve and scoop all that salsa goodness with the crispy golden wonton scoop. 6 minutes to make a salad dish, how fast and easy is this!

Not your authentic salsa? Are you serious? We use wonton wrap instead of tortilla chip to serve salsa here. Of course it’s not authentic. It’s so much more fun to use your imagination to create salsa your way! Try incorporate corn instead of jalapeño, green onion instead of cilantro, yellow pepper instead of onion. Heck, why not replace tomato all together with mango, peach, strawberry, orange, grape, apple, or pineapple to make fruit salsa. Whatever you can find in your kitchen. There is really no need to run to the store with your apron just for this dish. Can’t find fruit in your kitchen? OMG! Where do we begin? Fruits are essential to healthy lifestyle. Don’t make us call your mom. Quickly stock some fruits in your kitchen so nobody get hurt. More wonton wrap dishes here!
